is going on at starplaza and you all know that the prices reached a painfull border in the last months (a normal white tank top for 120 $c ... hello !) thats why you should really check out for some snaps, thats what i did sadly i haven't found that much but i could really recommend these two sweaters here:

 

1. block camel sweater by bonjour bizou (6 $) 2. taupe slouchy sweater by stardoll (8 $)

they were way to expensive before but know they cost like they would in the good old days.
interesting fact : the first sweater is part of the sonia rykiel spring 2011 ready to wear collection

 

i wish the stardoll version would be a bit more see-through like the original one but you can't have everything can you ?

Must Buy !

the RAVEN SKULL NECKLACE ! saw this piece of shiny metal in the starplaza and bought it in the same second, 30 $c is really a good price, the graphic is good too, unfortunately its a bit short but all in all its a great little thing which fits good in a wardrobe of girls with a more edgy style. The next thing is a small clutch shaped like lips, black with studs on it for 50 $c normal price, graphic not the best but its a good item for those who love the little black dress.

 

the real version of the raven necklace is designed by PAMELA LOVE her jewellery is awsome so check it out! the raven necklace is really expensive but if you're interested you can buy it here. the studded lips clutch is designed by the famous british accessories fashion designer LULU GUINNESS, best known for her exclusive handbags if you interested you can buy it here (really expensive too -.-).

 

the real life versions ... i really like them. sadly they're way to expnesive for my little wallet. so long i hope you're as impressed as i am and invest some $c in these awsome accessories.

Margot Tennenbaum (make up)

is a character from one of my favourite films ever. the film is called the royal tenenbaums directed by WES ANDERSON. what makes margot tenenbaum such a unique character, besides her cinycal and depressive attitude, it's the way she dresses. to understand her style we need to understand what PREPPY is, for those who never heard of it preppy was a word for pupil which visited a really good school it was used in the north of america to also describe a group of people with a lifestyle characterized by money, vanity and hubris however the word was later adopted for the fashion world. best example for "preppy couture" is TOMMY HILFIGER, he was the one open this style for the masses. sailer shoes polo shirts, pale and pastel colors like mint green and white define the preppy style.

back to margot she is (like the whole tenenbaum family is ) a satirical skit of the preppyism. she wears the preppy dresscode but her make up shows how she isn't the nice little girl from a good house. so the conflict growing inside her is reflected at her outside too thats why her style is for me worth to be a role model. but to understand better what i try to explain you should really watch that film !

 

to create your own margot tenenbaum make up you don't need much. step one: get the above hairstyle as it looks really like margots headdress in the film. step two: lighten the eyebrows till they look really pale. step three: use the black eyline, the black khol pencil and the black eyeshadow and paint the lower eyelid with those three (not the upper one that is important !) and tah - dah you get your own margot make up ... easy peasy isn't it ! 

i hope i can make a "preppy (get the look)"  post soon but those tutorial are really much work so i can't say when it really will be released. before i forget here a picture of the real margot.

Mortal Kiss

returns ... a good thing or not ? the first book of mortal kiss i hadn't really observed  and i had hardly read through only one chapter ... so i cannot really say if it was good or bad, but i have the feeling it may could be fun to read the the next part of the story instead of get bored on stardoll (which always leads to spend stardollars for something i simply don't need ...). sadly its only written in english so younger readers from countrys like germany will have problems to read it, really a cool thing is the calender which was released today at one go with the first chapter of MORTAL KISS FOOLS SILVER . after the horrible graphic novel SEA OF STARS which storyline i still don't really get i hope this piece of stardoll litrature will not leave me in a total mess after reading it. now i have bored you enough just check it out yourselfe. i will keep you update anyway :).

DIY Shoes

are something for the creative users of stardoll. as i looked through some sd blogs i found DEVIL ON MY SHOULDER created by xxgreen0applexx its a blog where some fierce dollies present their looks and what inspired them to dress up like this, unfortunately the blog is on polish but maybe you can use the google translator to get the context. back to the shoes the looks on this blog are 100% high fashion and the best thing are often the selfmade shoes, if you check the blog you may see what i'm talking about. so i thought a little how-to-create-DIY-shoes tutorial could be fun:

some examples how i would tinker myself some cool DIY shoes, you only need three or two pairs of shoes (at least because there are no limits how much shoes you can put together) and a bunch of ideas. so little dollies open your wardrobe pick some rad shoes and start to create footwear no one in whole dolliwood has.

Wild Fox Couture @ Carla Gugino

once again i visited the dress up doll side on sd and the new doll is CARLA GUGINO i don't know her and i don't really care. what really catches my eye was one shirt you could dress the doll up with:

here we have the original version. i'm really a big fan of this lable and a follower of the awsome inspiration blog by the wildfox designer kimberley. it isn't the first time sd uses one of their designs.

Fjällräven Kanken

what the hell ... is the first thing yo think when you read this titel isn't it ? or if you're a real outdoor clothing insider you already know that it is the name of the fierce bags made by the swedisch outdoor brand FJÄLLRÄVEN.  as i saw this little fella at starbazaar i knew i have seen this shape before:

the special shape is the original style of fjällräven backbpacks which were invented in the late 70's for school kids.  during that time the number of kids with back problems has risen so the bag should solve this problem and down to the present day it looks really classy. i was so impressed that i bought myself this real life version:

unfortunately the above blue sd version is sold out and only avilable at strabazaar. it shouldn't be that expensive so if you're interested try your luck ! besides stardoll the bags can be bought for example at weare.

Givnechy Tribute

or how stardoll disappointed me. as i heard a givenchy tribute store is about to be released  i was so happy because the brand has just surprised the fashion world with its amazing fall 2011 ready to wear collection. but the shop is full of clothes i never have seen before and couldn't even finde them in the last or newest collections ... the graphic is horrible and about the use of color i refuse to say something about ! i was ready to write a post full of joy and happiness to celebrate the purchase of some cool new clothes but now i just bought these:

1. bourgundy shoulderbag (12 $)  2. mauve lockdown belt (5 $) 3. shackle cuff right (5 $)

the original versions

these three items where the only worth to buy. especially the lockdown belt (no. 3) because of its amazing grey tone another rare good thing about this tribute store are the cheap prizes. i hope you weren't as disappointed as i am and bought some more. at the end of the day there is no accounting for taste right ?

Grunge (get the look)

as i promised a tutorial about the grunge look. grunge first appeared durnig the 90's in consequence of the rising success of bands like nirvana or pearl jam a subculture was burn which burrowed the rage of a whole generation (generation X) in its visceral. though the style create the impression of a big i-don't-care attitude you can say that this was really the massage ... not to care about what all the others do or say, to refuse making statements no one really believes in. 1992 marc jacobs was the first designer who used this look in one of his shows  and now so many years later many designer had follow him.

Mario Schwabs Teen Witch Shoes

saw them ... screamed ... bought them ... :

here we have the stardoll version not as good as the real version but its ok.

mario schwabs spring ready to wear collection 2011 has this really mystical atmosphere in a very elegant way perfectly made for the teen witch style (a post which explains this style is planned)

Dress Up Dolls

i barely pay attention to them. most of them i really don't know or i really don't care about. though we have to admit stardoll sometimes have the ability to choose some rad people (e.g. lykki le, chloe sevigny, venus, picasso, bat for lashes, james dean, and some more) just take a look through the dolls, today i logged in and the new dress up doll is ... COURTNEY LOVE ! she is really a big inspiration for my looks especially the "90s courtney", hole is one of my favourite bands. i thought inform you about this surpirse would be nice because i visit the dress up page rarley.

 

 

i would give this dress up doll 3 of 5 stars tough i was happy to see a icon like her as a dress up doll i think the grafics are not that good (her hair look like she was just getting out of bed ) and the clothes chosen aren't really how she dresses in real life .

 

this is the look which shows courtneys style during the times of miss world which was in the late 90's.

ok little miss worlds get up open your wardrobe and see if you got some clothes to transform you into a real grunge queen, and before i forget after i post the "hobo (get the look)" post i start working on a "grunge (get the look)" post which will come soon. hope you're excited.

are shoes a girl fall in love with in the second she sees them. and as i once logged into stardoll and glimpsed them in starplaza my heart stopped ... i hope you all took this chance to own yourself a pair of virtual jeffrey campbells (yeah this really sounds a bit insane ...)

to be correct this is a quote marie antoinette never have said, it was a common joke during the times of french revolution but enough with ms. wisenheimer. speaking of the fallen french queen, a few days ago i watched the movie by soifa coppola (one of my favourite movies) and i thought of dressing up a bit as a princes:
