Christopher Kane ... on SD

a new column i'll start about my favourite fashion lables and their appearance on SD. as i once said on stardoll every piece of pixel fabrics you buy is a copy of a real life design by the most magnificent fashion houses with a long tradtion, and i really have the feeling that most of the little dollies don't know about it. that is not a crime especially when you only 13 years old, but at the age of 13 my obsession for the beautiful clothes seen on my mothers vogue started to grow. so i though it could be fun to tell you about some designers i adore and the stardoll team also does as those appear more often at starbazaar.

CHRISTOPHER KANE

~ ... to go as bright as possible ~

i'll start with a young star of the fashion world, the british wunderkind christopher kane. as a former student of the famous central saints martin collage of art and design, kane is part of a number of famous designer who started thier carrier at this univeristy. soon donatella versace get interested in kanes work at univeristy and hired him as soon as he finished. 

on the wave of his succsess he also launched his own lable which today is an admitted fashion line. i first got interested in kanes work as i saw his 2011 resort collection. the space print also made their way to our little starplaza:

soon in his carreer DORNATELLA VERSACE hired kane to work vor versace, and later in 2009 she transmits him the responsibility for the younger sister line VERSUS. in the last summer months the popular tribute stores arrived at SD for the second time and versus were also one of theses special stores.

as you can see christoper kane always has this really faminine shapes and uses the contrast of colors (he uses the typical pattern of english school uniforms but chooses colors which pushes this pattern in an abstract and extrem way) to create a nearly disformed atmosphere, something we can also see at his well known spring ready to wear collection for his own lable, in which he chooses granny like fabrics for example knit and lace, long cut pencil skirts and knit jackets but soused them into neon colors what has an awsome effect of turning these oldfashioned clothes in a future century dress code.

the collection was a huge succsess and i think it deserves to be so. the latest clothes of christopher kanes lable you can find at starplaza were part of the fall 2011 collection, at this time i think they are a bit too expensive but we see it's not only me how is totally in love with this genius. i hope you've learned a bit about christopher kane and it may inspires you.

A New Start

is about to happen with nymph attires sister blog PINUPDOLLS, and i can proudly say i'm part of it ...  yeay ! i volunteered to be a part time contributer and i will do my best to search for the most original doll out there, so make sure your dressed up, your suit looks like a advertise for ikea our your just a stunner. an you will maybe see your pretty little face on that blog.

She Is The New Thing

or how i finally got the red/orange hair tone i waited for. i really like redhair and wanted my medoll to live this obsession because i can't (as you may know my doll is build partly realistic, means how i really look like and partly fantasy), and today as i visited USD i found this tone:

 

and it leads to my mini me's new look.

another huge inspiration for all my medoll looks are THE HORRORS a band which i admire with every heartbeat, and so i though you should check out my latest favourite tune, which you can find on thier last album SKYING and which also leads to the change of my medoll.

Young Hollywood

i short review:

the spoiler of the young hollywood collection we saw a few days haven't really convinced me, but as i checked seen on stardoll (one of the best SD blogs in my opinion) i saw that some of the clothes are based one desgins of my all time favourite lables, like miu miu or chloe seveigny for opening ceremony (which is totaly overprised so i didn't buy it ).

this is what i couldn't resist buying:

those two clutches went straight to my suit, 1. mary kate box purse & 2. headdress handbag. the first bag is origanly by the fabulous brand owned by mary kate and ashley olsen, its called THE ROW and if you have won a huge bunch of money you can buy the original bag here. the other bag is from the great gvinechy fall 2011 ready to wear collection (if you take a look at this collection you will realise why i was so disappointed by the SD givenchy tribute store).

real life versions:

the 3. piece i grabed straight away is the wonderful feminine camila waterlily dress (90 $) is originally part of the miu miu ready to wear 2011 collection, the collections is dominated by prints reminding of grannys old frock but in a very avangard way but check the runway show out here.

i'd love to tell you some more about the other nice dresses and the story behind them like the golden chanel jacket or the proneza schouler dress but its getting late and i'm really tired. the last thing i need to write about is, think twice before you buy something of this collection most of the pieces have a really bad graphic but and  much more higher price you shouldn't spent your money (and it is really money you spent !) for things made of bad quality you wouldn' do that in real life would you? so try to take it easy and dont over-react because the stuff is limited.

however i wish you find some nice pieces you like to add to your closet as i did. keep edgy and keep rad (my new goodbye sentence hope you like it) !

New PPQ ...

will be released soon, the only remaining real brand (which is worth to call a fashion brand, not like JCpenny) on SD has launched their newest fall ready to wear collection in feburary, which definitely  proofs how long stardoll needs to catch up with the latest trends (or they wait till the season the collection is for begins but i don't think so ...). as i am just don't know where to find these damn spoilers you have to click here to see the collection pieces which will be released on SD. i will update this post when the collection is out and will surprise you with some real life versions !

the new PPQ store is out, (of course) only available for superstars and the prices are reaching from 10$ to 28 $. especially those who have an obsession for black and or tupe dresses make sure you have enough money. sadly i haven't however i couldn't resist to get these three pieces:

i prefer the real life collection, stardoll did a good job with the dresses but most of the accessories fail totally like the kitty hat:

 

another thing that i liked about the real life PPQ collection is the make up and the hairstyles. this interaction between the rigorous braids and the edgy black make up looks so elegant and velvet at the same time so i was impressed immediately, and the even better thing is we can copy the look easily on SD: 

for those who are really interested here i have a video of the fashion show, ready to wear 2011, to see clothes of a collection in movement is always the best way i think. ok but thats really it now, enjoy the new PPQ.

Space LITA !

is on its way to stardoll !!! as i saw on today's spoilers (check them everyday on USD) yeah i'm a bit nervous about this, i hope you all remember my "Campel Shoes" post about the famous LITA and its emerge at starbazar a few months/years ago. i sang my alleluia about it (the real life version and the SD version) and if i infected you with it you possibly get the chance to buy your virtual pair of JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITA shoes.  and in one of the most coolest version ... (imagine a little fanfare)  ... the cosmic print LITA !

"over a year later, LITA is still turning heads. the cosmic print LITA is one of our most popular color-ways of the fab platform yet!" is what is said in the offical jeffrey campbell blog (i recommended the blog to you already if you haven't checked it out jet you really should its awsome). and now this top seller comes to SD, uuuh i can't wait.

here the SD version, the front shoe looks great the side shoe not so good but its ok, i hope the price will be reasonable like the black version which you can only but for at least 100 $ on starbazaar (as i run out of stardollars ), i hope i could present you something to be excited about and i didn't overreact as a huge campbell shoes (esspacialy the LITA) fan.

The Great Colored Hair-End

is one of those things born in the underground and soared in to the sky of high fashion. it may looks like everybody could do it ... but it's not that easy. if you planing to get your hair-ends go crazy DON'T do it on your own, so why i'm telling you about this hairy trend. just because i know how desperately you little fashion victims try to choose or create a hairstyle different from all the others on SD, one step to get out of the harming shadow of boredom are those wonderful colored hair-ends. before i show you how to do it (its really easy peasy on SD) to get a better impression what i'm talking about some real life versions.

as you can see the most important things are:

• your hair should be at least longer as shoulder length.

• the color of your dye your hair-ends with should be unnatural like green, purple our blue .

• your colored hair-ends should look like a out grown hair dyeing and not like you hold your hair in a paint bucket.

if you regard those three things you should be happy with the result otherwise you can get used to a short haircut. 

now i show you how to get the hair-ends of your medoll colored. to get this look work i choose this hairstyle:

 

the basic-color of your hairstyle should be a natural tone (i used moonlight color (2) and dark brown (1))  but you can also choos a lighter blond tone but i wouldn't choose black, white or red it could look a bit too scene-kid. and for the dyed hair-ends i choose blue, but if you have you can also use green (a light green for blond or dark green for brown), purple or cyan but i wouldn't use pink, red or yellow because of the scene-kid effect those colors have and you will look elgeant/high fashion and not emo would you ?

this is my own medoll, this blue tone is a bit lighter and subtle so if you don't want to go to crazy i would recomend this one. (both tones basic and hair-ends a still avalible at starbazar)

Ghost World (get the look)

a few year ago i watched the film GHOST WORLD i totally forgot about it but thanks the best tiny little blogger in the world tavi i was remembered and after watching it again i thought that the style shown in the movie  is really why not see if i can put it on mine and your medoll ? but befor the typical information about my source of afflatus:

the film is based on the eponymous comic book "ghost world " the book and the script for the film where made by DANIEL CLOWES, terry Zwigoff dircted the film. you can (if you want to) categorize the film as an coming-off-age movie made in 2001, it tells the story of enid. together with her best friend she lives the life of a misfit, they finshed school and now a new chapter starts but enid try to find her way and its hard for her to accept that her world is turning, but watch it yourself i'm not so good in summing up films ...

inspired by ... ENID COLESLAW (the movie version)
