Antidote Spring Summer 2013

just awful, i can't express how much bored i am of SD right now. week after week we get ...  just nothing, nothing, nothnig. i really wish i could make an awsome cool post but i'm so uninspired it pisses me of. however i remembered i haven't really write about the last ANTIDOTE collection so this is what this post is going to be about. i know this store is old by now and most of the items are already sold out but still i think it's worth talking about. 

i have no shame in saying that this store blew me away. i'm so impressed by the shapes the cuts and most of all by the choice of color or as most of the clothes are black and white the leak of it. i don't now how often i criticized the fact of SD turning a wonderful looking garment into a piece of trash simply by changing its color from balck to pink. but not this time NO (!). when i logged into my account and saw those new antidote clothes i hurried and grap all the things i liked which were alot but still there are some pieces i have to buy from bazaar as i just hadn't enough money to buy them (... de de deeee) to keep a long story short here are the things i  went up buying. 

so these are the things from the current antidote collection who made it in my medolls wardrobe. the polka dot dress could be inspired by chanel but as i'm not a hundret percent sure i didn't uploaded a picture. regular readers already now how much i like black and white clothes, so clearly this collecction gets such a good review but don't get me wrong even black clothes can look shitty but this time SD just chooses the right pieces, those mirrored jacket and bustier are just amazing plus the anti skirt (you can see on the last picture) is so rad i'm not quiet sure how to pull it of but i will find away fore sure (haha). 

compareing to the clothes the accessories (and the furniture which isn't even worth wrtiting about) aren't that good. of course we had some nice things here and there but all in all SD could have done a way better job. at the end of the day i found a few things i just had to buy (of course).

 

the nirvana smiley (or inspried by the original nirvana smiley) hairclip is my absolut favourite accessory from this anttidote collection. 

i have to make a confession, i really suck at finding real life versions and i don't know why. i look at all this fashion shows (as you know the fashion week season is yet over and i was glued to my laptop the whole time) but i simply couldn't find one real life version of the things i bought from the antidote shop i'm truly sorry. but i promise i will add them as soon as i find something so it's worth to not totally forget about this post after you've read it as along as you are interested in this real life versions stuff.

the first four pictures you can see are from the NASTYGAL january lookbook and i think we can see some simularities to a few pieces from the antidote collection and the last two pictures are from CHANELs spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection.

Antidote Summer 2012 (updated)

the fact that i have almost no time to concentrate on a post worth to be uploaded, SD really offers not much for me to focus on and present it to my wonderful readers ... the past too tribute store weren't really my kind of style and the new antidote collection is  not quiet how i did expect it to be (!) but i  wanted to do a little post about it anyways for the tradtional's sake.  

the theme is obviously las vegas and i think that's why we have to deal with a huge use of neon color, for some people this is a good thing because they might like to use neon for their looks but i'm not one of those people thats why i didn't bought much. thanks to my dear friend MISS.PRIVACY i found out that SD recreated some pieces of JEREMY SCOTT'S spring 2012 ready to wear collection, this is the second time SD uses jeremy scott's amazingly designs for the antidote collection (i like the color explosions scott uses but it sadly isn't really my kind of style).

seems like the print of the cacti sky skirt is inspired by this jeremy scott print

these clothes found their way into my medolls wardrobe. i just thought those would fit the best into the way i dress up my medoll because most of the time i avoid color but when i use it in a look i like it when it's the center of the complete outfit and i think those above shown garments have the potential to be this eyecatcher. 

 

the black and white shoes (23$ sold out) and the ivoire orbit socks (15 $ still avaliable!) seems to be inspired by this jeremy scott footwear

or the black and white shoes are based on the super rad JEFFREY CAMPBELL LINDY'S

for me the black and white shoes are the highlight of this andtidote collection. the JC version appeared in the WOULDN'T IT BE NICE collection, which seems to be inspired by the bebop generation and their significant kind of fashion. i just needed to buy them as they reminded my of the shoes a rad girl gang from the late 60's would have worn. 

the other really nice accessoire from this antidote collection is the shoshana handbag (20$ still available). if you're a fan of the lable MIU MIU you may have seen bags similar to this one before. as part of the spring 2012 ready to wear collection the TOP HANDLE BAGS where released. and if you recently have visited the voile shop you may have noticed that sd released a few more miu miu top handle bags.

the shoshana handbag is not sold out yet you may want to take that chance an purchase this wonderful little bag.

we have reached the end of this post about a rather more disappointing antidote collection but even though i'm less than thrilled there are some things which i can really recommend but at the end of the day you have to decide for yourself what fits the style of your medoll best.

lets hope the upcoming tribute store (i just hope SD will release one more) will be in some way more wearable and god damned stardoll stop using colors which make my eyes bleed and start working with black, grey and white !!! (sorry guys but i needed to get this off my shoulders ...)

Antidote Spring 2012

is out in starplaza. i was surprised how much better the clothes looked than they did in the spoilers i even broke my rule of avoid neon like bright colors.

i really went wild and bought much (for me it felt like this but someone who spend 5000 $ at LE may laugh now) i'm a huge fan of antidote sadly i never had enough money or simply wasn't a superstar when it came out but not this time. however i didn't went completely nuts as i liked the antidote collection before better and will try to get some of it when it's sellable at starbazaar so i needed to hold back some money. 

here is what i bought:

chill pill tee (40$), gumball jeans (40$), pill pop skirt (35$)  

 

  wolf bird crop sweater (35$)

green popstar glasses (25$), banded black pleather boots (35$)

 

  extra extra clutch (25$), kapow clutch (30$), pill pop necklace (20 $)

i think this collection is really well done, we have alot of inspiration from street art and pop art. the only think which annoys me a bit are the colors. we have a lot of pink (again) which make some of the clothes look like cheap barbie trash fashion but this a problem we have to deal with since SD hired a 10 year old girl (that loves her pony named starlight and is the biggest barbie fan ever!) which is now the leading graphic designer sorry but this is my only reasonable explanation for this color trouble.

~ REAL LIFE VERSIONS ~

as i wrote in the last post, it seems like the greatest influence (for the clothes) of this ANTIDOTE collection was the marvelous JEREMY SCOTT, especially his fall ready to wear 2011 collection, one of my fave collections of the last year (besides givenchy and meadham kirchhoff), towards scott his biggest inspiration for this collection were the ninetees "I was thinking a lot about 1994: going to school, getting dressed up to go to parties, the enthusiasm I had,"  he said after the show. and if you're a regular reader you already now how much i like the ninetees pop culture so its only logical that i was more than keen about this work of jeremy scott, however back to the pictures. here they are:

i hope i can figure out on which designs the other clothes are based on. at the end of the day what would a street/popart inspired ANTIDOTE collection would be without BANKSY and OBEY so if you don't know who that is you should really click on the names. but i'm pretty sure you have seen some of their works already wihtout realizing who or what it was.
